La familia en Guatemala

Hola buenas tardes!!

Bien, ya llevo unas tres semanas en Guatemala. En la última actualización me quedé en Puerto Barrios, que fue el mismo dia que crucé la frontera entre Belice y Guatemala. Al dia siguiente de la actualización del blog me dirigí a Antigua para encontrarme con Kendra, que anteriormente ya nos habíamos encontrado en Buenos Aires. Allí, estuve una semana justa antes de que volviera Freya de Cuba, no hicimos nada en especial, comer como cerdos, ver películas - porque tengo que admitir que mi cultura cinéfila era patética-.

Al cabo de una semana llegó Freya, y ella pidió otra semana de relax, así que estuve 2 sin hacer nada.

Pero decidimos hacer un poco de turismo antes de que mis padres vinieran a Guatemala, asi que planificamos una ruta. De antigua nos dirigimos a Monterrico - población del pacífico-. después a Reu, Huehuetenango, de allí a Todos los Santos, este pueblo es original, orginal y de allí a Momostenango, que es donde estamos ahora. Hoy nos acaba de pasar una anécdota....Freya, como toda mujer tiene el periodo y no tenía tampax, así que fuimos a la farmacia. Yo, he pedido tampax, o algo para la regla, o mejor dicho, el periodo. Bueno, pues no me entendian. Que le pasa que tiene retrasos en la regla? y yo, no, ella tiene la regla, pero necesita algo para no mancharse su ropa interior. A lo que respondieron: Toallitas o proteccion? Yo que les digo, En España, cuando las mujeres tienen el periodo hay unas cosas cilíndricas de algodón que se pone dentro del aparato reproductor femenino para mejor comodidad y absorción de la sangre. Bueno, pues después de 5 minutos de reloj preguntando a no se quien, me han dicho que no tenian y que no sabían que quería. Yo, impaciente les he preguntado. En este pueblo cuando las mujeres tienen la regla, cada 28 dias, que os poneis entre las piernas para protegeros?? m.........toallitas, y yo.........bueno, pues dame. Las mujeres, en un actor para mi de poca educación se pusieron a reír descontroladamente. Entiendo que al ser un hombre preguntando esas cosas en un pueblo aborígen es algo que no estan acostumbradas. La mujer en esta sociedad no es nada y es ninguneada.

En fin, en 2 dias mis padres y los 13 paquetes de jamon!!

well, I have been 3 weeks in Guatemala. The last updated was the same day i cross the border between Belize and Guatemala in Puerto Barrios. The following day I updated i went to Antigua to meet Kendra, i met her in Buenos Aires before. I was one week in her house waiting for Freya to come back from Cuba.

when she came back she didn't want to do nothing so we mess around for one week, but this couldn't keep going, so we decided travel around Guatemala before my parents come to Guatemala - in two days, by the way-.

We went to Monterrico - pacific's town-. From there to Reu, then Huehuetenango, adfter that, todos los Santos, very good town, very orginal, non touristic, and from there to Momostenango, is where we are now.

In this town we had a weird afternoon.....Freya as all the woman has, she has the period and she run out of tampons, so we went to the farmacy. I asked for tampons for the period, but they don't know what is that. the woman asked what we wanted...something for the delay in her period, i said, no, she has the period now and she doesn't have protection for her cloths. She goes, Do you want towels or protection, i said, nothing....In Spain when a woman has the period you can get long things made of cotton to put in the vagine. She told me they don't have that. So, i asked upset, the women here, in this town, when they have the period what they put in the vagine to be more comfortable and less dirty, she goes, we do not use that things. After that, the ladies in the farmacy started laughing, a bit rude for me, misrespectful. I thinl they were laughing because i am a man and i was asking about that, the man here, they don't care about women issues, the woman in this society is nothing.

well, in two days mu parents here with 13 paquets of spanish ham.
